Facial workflow and blocking

As I continue to animate the scene there were some issues that came up. One being my health, I was ill. Other issues such as my satisfaction with the beginning motions, I forced myself to do hand gestures when it wasn't necessarily natural. So it was back to the drawing board. By board I mean more reference video. This time I also took the reference in a similar manner to the composition of the shot, so I could animate to camera.

The animation now looks a lot more structured. I love the rock back when the father says "Ohhh" I think it's going to turn out nicely when the inbetweens and spline come in. On top of that, I have been working on the face. This is my first time animating a character giving dialogue, so overall it was a little daunting. Originally, I started with the mouth, then the eyes, and then the entire face. That was my workflow, however, it seems more common to do it the other way around. Facial expressions first, then the dialogue. I was also animating on a static head (see video below) and then applying the keyframes from that face to the moving body. Overall I have a lot to think about but here is how things are looking.
